The dotLINK interface is the new link for TotalChrom Chromatography Data Systems available as an internal board in the PerkinElmer Clarus 500 Gas Chromatograph (GC) or as an external device for the PerkinElmer Series 200 High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) systems and third-party control.

The dotLINK interface runs under a Microsoft Windows CE.NET 4.2 operating system. The dotLINK main board provides an ethernet port which allows the instrument to connect directly to the local area network (LAN) and a serial port for simpler configurations. TotalChrom workstation and TotalChrom Client/Server can access and monitor multiple instruments simultaneously through the instrument IP addresses.

Applicable systems

The dotLINK interface supports the PerkinElmer Clarus 500 GC and GC/MS, the PerkinElmer Series 200 HPLC systems, the Agilent 1100 HPLC and the Agilent 6890/Plus GC.

Configurations

The dotLINK interface supports the following GC and HPLC configurations:

  • Maximum of three PerkinElmer Clarus 500 GCs for each external dotLINK box
  • Maximum of one PerkinElmer Series 200 HPLC system stack (pump, autosampler, UV/Vis detector and NCI)
  • Maximum of two Agilent 6890 GCs
  • Maximum of one Agilent 1100 HPLC system stack (pump, autosampler and UV/Vis detector)

The dotLINK interface, in its embedded GC configuration, has one RJ-45 serial port for serial connectivity to a host computer, one RJ-45 port for ethernet connectivity and one USB port for software upgrades. The side of the panel of the Clarus 500 GC has a reset button and two status LEDs at the ethernet port.

When used with a HPLC system, the dotLINK interface has a small footprint, providing valuable space for your laboratory. The components are housed in a rectangular box and the front of the box has six LEDs showing the status of each of the serial ports. The back of the box has a reset button for IPM and IP address reset, six RJ-45 serial ports for serial connectivity (four are available for use at any given time), one RJ-45 port for ethernet connectivity, one USB port for software upgrades and a power connection.

While your instrument is on warranty, we will provide Email (support@spectralabsci.com) and phone support and troubleshooting if you require assistance. If there is ever anything wrong with the equipment, we will replace it. Warranty begins from the date your equipment is successfully delivered. Any issues that occur during warranty should be reported immediately, describing the issues in as much detail as possible. Do not attempt to repair the equipment or involve a 3rd party without our express permission – this will result in voiding our warranty.

Installation and Training
If you purchase equipment from Spectralab Scientific, we offer installation and familiarization by our service technicians for an additional fee. If the instrument is particularly complicated, we highly recommend this service. If you’ve purchased less-complex equipment from us that you would like to install yourself, we can provide Team Viewer, email, or telephone support for no additional cost.
